I am "secretive" about my particulars but I was talking about the huge red flag that should pop up when a job seeker is secretive about the reasons they left, or were asked to leave, a previous position.
I try to not give people on the net too much information. You never know when the real nutjobs will turn around and try and use information given them in confidence to attack you. I know, hard to believe and spineless in the extreme but it's true, it happens, I've seen it.

Are you still working? Have you ever been fired? Been fired for stealing? For not showing up? Do you consider yourself reliable? Ever file for work comp?
I listen to my sister-in-law talk about problems she's had with employees at her restaurant, and the reliability/honesty/work comp issues seem to pop up consistently.
Do you have geographical restrictions? Are you limited to a certain area of the city?
One final comment: Having been in retail, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I think it a more thankless profession than the restaurant industry.
